Short for "Jedidiah". A stout and stern man, once the proprietor of Creech & Sons Garage. Arthritis has hampered his ability to work, and a distinct lack of sons on Daniel's part has forced a change of name upon the business.

Daniel's mother, a lifelong housewife and Garfield enthusiast. Warm, welcoming, and extremely nosy, with a fondness for gossip. One of Ruth Turner's many progeny.

Matriarch of the Turner family. A homebound retiree, and Jamie's host. Kindly and sharp-witted, she's desperate for her grandson to visit home again, and sees Jamie as an avenue toward that end.
